Peps and I have now finally joined the masses of 80 million odd people who have watched this most popular musical of all time. And the performance and set at our very own Civic Theatre is right up there, according to the American lady who sat on the other side of Peps last night. She informed us she is here on holiday with her husband and this was the 5th time (first time in NZ) she watched The Phantom of the Opera. "I'm very pleased with it." Watching this musical live for the first time, I absolutely agree with her. Peps, on the other hand, still thinks Andrew Lloyd Weber is over rated. In Scene 10 of Act 1, when Christine and Raoul pledged their love to each other on the roof of the Opera House, with all of Paris' lights around them, singing All I Ask Of You, my darling confessed he nearly fell asleep. Sigh....sometimes, Peps is just very typically blockbustery blokey. It was a lovely night out for our 8th Wedding Anniversary - which also happened to be on the night of Peps' end of year work do so actually, dinner and one of the show tickets were on the company. What great timing :).
