The event started at 7pm but by the time we faffed around (I hadn't realised that "supper" doesn't mean dinner food, so at 6.30pm I was hurriedly assembling chicken salad for 4 adults and 2 children), we arrived an hour and half late, in the dark, to a place we've not been before. Hence the on-its-way-out bonfire.
Still got to toast marshmallows so I'm happy :-)
The fireworks (the last of it) were loud and quite scary for the littlies (ps baby didn't even flinch one bit!), but their "let's go home" moans soon dissipated when they discovered the fun of climbing up the hill to be pulled down on a plastic sheet by Dad.
