Bedtime

As I typed the title for this post, the predictive "title" field shows up "Bedtime strategy" - I'd forgotten about that post. Uncannily, I had posted that just over a year ago.

So bedtime is still consistently a challenge in our household. I rather hate our day ending with the boys hearing my VERY angry voice and/or them in tears - all makes for a very dreadful bedtime that nobody enjoys. Trouble is, bedtime is an everyday occurence which isn't optional either. We have a routine, always have; the boys still came out and/or called out umpteen times. I can resist the "One more cuddle and kiss" but not the "I need to do wees" pleas.

The New Plan: The Bedtime Pass

(Showing off their personal pass, which they made by themselves.)

The game plan is simple: in order to come out of their bedroom, they have to hand over their Bedtime Pass, which they will then only get back the following night before bedtime.  If they come out again after that, they just get accompanied back to their room with no interaction from us.

But these are our boys: stubbornness perseverance is their strength. So we instituted the
The Bedtime Pass Peppers Deluxe. Same as the above, plus if they don't use their pass all week, they'll get a Mystery Reward on Sunday.

It's working well so far. VERY well indeed!
