Baby's blanket

A wee cuddly blankie for baby.

Now this is the part I explain briefly (no, I won't launch into sermons!) the spiritual significance for its construction :-)

Praying hands

This is a tribute to all our friends and family who have been faithfully keeping us in prayer throughout this pregnancy. Any time I feel fearful, I am quickly comforted with the knowledge that someone somewhere is interceeding for bubs.

1 Thessalonians 5:17 : "Pray without ceasing."

Foot prints

Isaiah 52:7
How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion, “Your God reigns!”.

Heart

Jeremiah 3:15
"Then I will give you shepherds after My own heart"

Our prayer for all our offspring is that they choose to be men and women after God's own heart.

I chose this stitch pattern because of its name - "Chinese Waves"

Waves remind me of water which reminds me of the Holy Spirit, "a Counselor to be with you forever" (John 14:16)

Chinese - well baby has a part Chinese heritage because of me :-)

Purple and red - gender neutral colours that are not yellow and green, LOL!

And for those who knows knitting terminology, for the border, I couldn't decide between 5 or 6 purl ridges. I thought I may as well attach some meaning to the border so decided to look up the significance of both numbers in the bible. Apparently 5 is the number of GRACE. So there you go :-) (Besides, in reality, this is our 5th baby.)

It's beautiful. And all the more so for the symbolism. Well done clever mummy.
