Wisdom For The Day

This time last year, when we first started going along to Athletics, it was hard work getting S5 to participate. Now, the transformation has been so very obvious (since I am having the same issue with N4 this year that I had with S5 last year) - he just ran off to the 5 year old group today, by himself (which is a big deal if you know my children), while I accompanied N4 to his 4 year old group.

The look of joy on your face, S5, as you raced on from long jumps to the sprint races was very apparent. Pity it ended a few seconds later when somehow you ran into the arm barrier and got a nasty cut on your face. Next week, darling, you'll be back :-)

And remember, yes, you are right in saying that parents want their children to win [the races], but as I said to you, more importantly, parents want their children to finish at the finishing line. You give it your best shot, baby.
