Pinocchio Fest

So we have been doing Circle Time every week since we introduced this into our family 4 weeks ago. (More on Circle Time in another post. ) We have been talking about the value of Honesty for the last 4 weeks. Pinocchio seems like a fitting story to read/watch. As an exercise, we borrowed the various different Pinocchio books I could find in the library catalogue.

The one that captures the boys' attention most is, what do you know, the original version (top right) rather than the adaptations. Of course, the movie went down like a treat :-)

I found this book while searching for the Pinocchio books so I got to drink in some wonderful pics of Italy - a place I long to visit one day. 

We discovered that the author's real name was Carlo Lorenzini - he assumed the pen name of Collodi after his mother's birthplace which is one of many villages in Tuscany. So, when we visit Italy, Collodi will be one of the destination as we'd dearly love to go to the Pinocchio Park.
