The Next Best Thing

As we headed home from visiting the Pochings, at about 5.30pm, S4 had it in his head that we really ought to go to the restaurant for a meal. Any restaurant, as long as it is a restaurant.
How could my various explanations of why we weren't going to the restaurant (ie how it is a treat, not something we do any time we want, that we save so much money by eating at home, that the food is healthier and safer at home, etc) compete with the will of a 4 going on 5 year old boy who is getting to the point of tiredness so that nothing is reasonable if not according to his will?

Fortunately, mercifully, he was contend enough to play restaurant at home. He asked for the tinsels to decorate our restaurant table, and accepted my suggestions for the candle and the napkins. Phew.

Here is a more true to reality photo without the flash - our candle-lit dinner at our restaurant.

And I even got a "Thank you for our dinner, mummy chef."
