Team Effort

Sometime last year I was gifted some cream wool by a fellow knitter mum girlfriend Nova with some Kool Aid. What have those full-of-colour-can't-be-good-for-you-ingredients-in-the-popular-cordial-drink-mix-from-the-USA got to do with yarn, you ask? Well, they turn boring plain yarn into bright beautiful yarn. And since the dye is a drink fit for human consumption, it is safe enough for little hands to play with.

So, back in April 2008, I set the boys loose on a painting activity.

An opportunity presented for me to explain why we avoid coloured drinks ;)

Then we hung the yarn to dry and just admire our artwork.

More than a year later, I finally got the yarns out to knit the boys some bed socks. I love knitting two socks at the same time, and this is a baby pattern which I adapted by using bigger needles for the bigger yarn and knitting the appropriate foot length.

It kept S5's feet warm and toastie last night but he had to take 'em off tonight because they were too warm he couldn't sleep!
